Providing high-quality in-home pediatric healthcare since 2018, board-certified nurse practitioner Erin Thoman is excited to provide an added level of dependability and convenience to Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents. The new clinic location can be found at 168th and Center, near Crumbl Cookies and Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Expanding a Tradition of Friendly, Experienced Pediatric Urgent Care

Founded in 2017 as a mobile pediatric practice, Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents has always operated on a foundation of high-quality healthcare designed to help parents and families as they navigate life with children, work, and inevitable illness.

Our board-certified nurse practitioners are able to come directly to a patient’s home in order to provide care that is personalized to your child’s needs and medical history, and can all be done without having to displace them or make them uncomfortable. Our nurse practitioners have been trained and licensed to treat minor illnesses and injuries, as well as write prescriptions when medically appropriate.

In addition to providing in-home pediatric care visits, Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents has been working toward the goal of adding a physical clinic location to the business model, in order to provide even more pediatric healthcare services to patients. The new location at 168th and Center is a welcome enhancement to our practice!

COVID Update: In-Home Visits Continue

In-home pediatric urgent care and well visits will continue as usual, but with the added benefit of being able to come into the Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents clinic if that better-suits the type of service needed.

Prioritizing a Safe Environment for Pediatric Urgent Care

While convenience for parents and families has always been a priority, Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents also works to uphold a healthcare environment that is as safe and comfortable as possible.

By providing in-home newborn visits, we are able to prevent our littlest and most sensitive patients from being unnecessarily exposed to the germs that are often lurking in pediatric clinics. This is why we will continue to provide in-home newborn care for all well-child checks under two months of age. Babies two months and older will then begin their well-child checks and vaccinations at the clinic.

The new Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Support clinic is specifically designed with this philosophy in mind, and works toward it on multiple levels.

Kids who are not feeling ill and are simply coming to the clinic for physicals or well-child appointments are able to enter through a separate entrance and head straight to an exam room. This added level of protection allows us to provide on-site services like school and sports physicals, immunizations, and well visits without the risks of a crowded, traditional clinic waiting room.

Offering Scheduled Same-Day Pediatric Urgent Care Services for the Greater Omaha Area

Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents understands the value of our patients’ time and schedules, and makes organized appointment scheduling one of our top priorities.

Our clinic now offers scheduled same-day sick visits, with an emphasis on ensuring that your child is seen at their appointment time. Waiting time is always minimal, as we are very careful to never double or triple book appointments. We know how frustrating it can be to make an appointment and end up having to wait far longer than you were supposed to, and our mission is to make sure you never have to experience that in our clinic.

Same-Day Pediatric Testing Services

One of the many advantages to our brick-and-mortar clinic is the ability to provide accurate, fast testing services for illnesses. These include Rapid PCR testing (with same-day results) for COVID, influenza A and B, and RSV. With only one swab for four different tests, we can reduce the anxiety and discomfort that often come with pediatric COVID and flu testing.

We are also excited to be able to offer pediatric rapid PCR testing for strep throat. This rapid test eliminates the need to wait 2-3 days for a throat culture, and will help families quickly determine what measures need to be taken to get their kids healthy, faster.
