Introduction

Mary Mantz has an ASN from the College of St. Mary, and is certified in Low Risk Neonatal Nursing and Electronic Fetal Monitoring. She has been a NICU/Labor and Delivery Nurse for almost 28 years, and has been able to build lifelong relationships with her coworkers as well as her patients.

Mary knows that many families return to have multiple babies, and she is grateful to be able to care for them in happy and not-so-happy times. She once cared for a mom who had 32-week twins in the NICU. The mother returned four years later, and she cared for her again when she was able to have a term baby. This mom recently took Mary’s family photos, which was a heartwarming experience for the both of them.
She knows that, as a nurse, she is responsible for a bond that some patients never want broken.

Mary was born in West Virginia where all of her family were coal miners. Her father was in the Navy, and then moved her family to Omaha for a job at Mutual of Omaha. Mary has three children and eight grandchildren who keep her very busy. In fact, her daughter referred her to NHP&P because she loves the clinic so much! Mary enjoys doing hot yoga, something she has been practicing for almost nine years.
