Illness and injury never wait for a convenient time to show up in our lives, and at Nebraska Home Pediatrics & Parents, we do our best to provide our patients with care in ways that work with their busy schedules. Our telehealth services allow us to diagnose and provide guidance for certain illnesses and injuries while our patients stay safe and comfortable at home.
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth (sometimes called telemedicine) is a way for you to connect with your medical provider without having to come into the office for a visit. While telehealth isn’t an option for every issue, it can be a fantastic way to receive advice and care for minor urgent care issues, prescription management, and follow up appointments.
When Should You Book a Telehealth Appointment
If you are feeling under the weather, crunched for time, or experiencing a scheduling conflict, a telehealth appointment might be exactly what you need to receive care without disrupting your life. Urgent care telehealth appointments are also helpful for keeping illness out of our clinic during cold and flu season, when contagious illnesses are at their peaks. In order to receive telehealth services, the patient must physically be in the state of Nebraska.
Accessing Virtual Care
Receiving telehealth care does come with certain requirements that are needed for accuracy of care. Virtual consultations are done via video conferencing technology, which can usually be found on smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Reliable internet and phone service are also necessary for telehealth appointments. If you have trouble accessing virtual care, please contact us at our clinic.
