If you are an established patient, or you have been seen in our urgent care clinic within the last 48-72 hours, and are still unsure of what to do after reading through this page, please access our pediatric nurse triage line by calling our office phone number.
Calls made after 4pm may not be returned until the next business day.
Primary Care
Certain illnesses and concerns can wait to be treated or evaluated until the next day, when our office opens up in the morning. Typically, in these situations, symptoms are mild and non-urgent. General medical concerns and questions also fall into this category.
The following circumstances can wait until the next day’s office hours:
- Mild symptoms from common illnesses like colds and flu
- Chronic health conditions with ongoing, manageable symptoms that have not worsened
- General medical advice
- Prescription refills
- Vaccinations
- Physicals
- Checkups
Urgent Care Nurse Support
When you or your child needs to be seen immediately, urgent care is often the best option in order to relieve intense symptoms and get patients quickly on the road to recovery. In these instances, we recommend that you call our office and schedule a same-day urgent care appointment. When the cold and flu symptoms mentioned above become severe enough they are causing extreme discomfort, they have graduated from a primary care visit to an urgent one.
These circumstances call for an urgent care visit:
- Excessive nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
- Insect and animal bites
- Simple cuts or lacerations that require stitches
- Worsened cold and flu symptoms
- Mild-to-high fever
- Non-life-threatening allergic reactions
- Skin rashes
- Ear aches
- Minor burns
- Suspected broken bones (if they are not visibly shifted out of place)
- Sprains and Strains
- Urinary tract infections
- Sore throatEye irritation and infections
If you determine that you or your child needs urgent care after our office is closed, we recommend visiting the following local urgent care options:

- Same Day Pediatrics at Boys Town
Adult Urgent Care:
